About this course

CertMaster Perform is CompTIA's comprehensive eLearning platform for CompTIA Network+ (N10-009), combining instructional content, video lessons, and hands-on labs in both simulated and live virtual environments. It includes 145 hands-on simulations (13 using the Network Modeler), 22 live labs, over 140 videos, and 3,500+ practice questions covering 100% of exam objectives.

The Network Modeler is a vendor-neutral simulation tool that lets learners design, test, and resolve network issues without physical hardware.

Hands-on labs

The CompTIA CertMaster Labs Network+ (N10-009) course provides practical hands-on labs across the core areas of network administration, security, and infrastructure management:

Physical Infrastructure & Cabling
Setting up network topologies, SOHO/home setups, connecting Ethernet, patch panels, cable modems, and fiber optic cabling, along with physical connection troubleshooting.
Switching & Routing
Installing and hardening switches and enterprise routers, configuring VLANs, trunking, port aggregation, PoE, jumbo frames, NAT, and resolving switching loops.
IP Addressing & Core Services
Configuring IPv4/IPv6 addressing and subnets across Windows, Linux, and mobile devices; managing DHCP (scopes, reservations, relays) and DNS (zones, host/CNAME records).
Network Management & Monitoring
Performing backups, firmware updates, and network discovery; collecting event logs; analyzing traffic using Wireshark, netstat, ping, traceroute, and Nmap; and setting up SNMP, QoS, and NTP.
Network Security & Hardening
Analyzing network threats (DoS/DDoS, ARP/DNS poisoning, spoofing) and implementing security controls such as firewalls, screened subnets (DMZ), intrusion prevention, switch hardening, and account policies.
Wireless, Remote Access, & Cloud
Designing indoor/outdoor enterprise wireless networks with captive portals; configuring VPNs, RADIUS, Remote Desktop, and jump boxes; and deploying cloud VMs and iSCSI storage.
